In Related News: One of the most prominent lifter of the US will be missing. Donny Shankle parted ways with MDUSA.

Donny was released due to a violation of team rules. We are only interested in our current team and their success, not the current release of Donny Shankle. We will not be answering any questions about Donny’s release moving forward.

A comment from the Pendlay Forum Admin (whoever that is) regarding the drugs speculation:

It’s not substance abuse. There are many other rules than that within the team.

Glenn Pendlay also said:

None of ths has anything to do with drugs or tests.

Does parting ways for mysterious rule violations necessairily mean not lifting at the A.O.?

    • Jon Frough

From reading the comments on the forum topic above, it seems participating isn’t really an option when you’re a paid athlete. Donny could not attend the AO for some reason or another and I guess that was what lead to his departure from MDUSA.

This is all just speculation on my part.

I’m thinking the same thing. Nothing more to it.

        • JRut

Then why not simply say that and avoid all the speculation and controversy?

          • http://profiles.google.com/rchsakki Brock Dulaney

Don’t know why they’re being quiet, but Donny has said it’s because he’s gotta miss this competition: http://donnyshankle.blogspot.com/2012/11/on-weightlifting-personal-view_7475.html

          • JRut

So you have to miss a meet and they boot you on the spot, and now he’s without a gym/team, but everything is “cool” and there’s no story here? Oooookay . . . .

  • Regimen

I think Donny’s “move” is good for the American weightlifting community. If Donny joins a new gym, we will all follow along. There’s still good reason to follow Team MDUSA, too. This is more exciting than it is mysterious or controversial.

Is the stream not working for anyone else?

    • Adam

Please ignore that i realised it doesn’t start until tomorrow

    Hey Gregor,

I know you mentioned something before about the webcast of the U23 Europeans (i am bummed too haha), but i stumbled across this:

    http://www.easywl.com/results/scoreboard.php?sessid=111

If you click on the lift it shows each of the individual lifts. Kinda cool!

Thanks for the heads up Mike. It was already added it to the post the other day.

Do you know if the replay of Sunday is going to be available soon or if there’s somewhere else to watch it? Thanks!
