Artem Ivanov Out with Knee Injury; Akkaev in Hospital?

Bad news for all Artem Ivanov fans. He is out.

Unfortunately, Artem Ivanov, the leader of the Ukrainian weightlifting team, will not participate in the Olympic Games due to a serious knee injury. via

This completely messes up my predictions. Well, way to go Ilya!

In other “News”:

Update: Reports are out saying that Akkaev underwent spinal surgery.

There is a rumor floating around the internet that Khadzhimurat Akkaev is / was in hospital. But nothing concrete is known… So take it with a huge grain of salt.

Update: Koing, who is in a loader and has also access to the training halls, commented:

I saw Akkaev watching Lu Xioajun on Wednesday. Looked fine to me!

    Dont forget that Marcin Dołęga is pretending for silver or maybe gold medal. I saw him doing over 200kg in snatch regularly three times a week !!!
