Chad Vaughn on the Squat Part 1 + Common Beginner Faults

Chad Vaughn goes over the the basics of & reasons for the (Olympic style - as low as you can, as upright as you can be) squat. Show that to people saying that you shouldn’t squat below parallel.

Non Evans would approve that DSP.

Update: Part 2 here & Part 3 here.

In another videos he discusses proper set-up and common faults when performing the Olympic lifts.

  • stance, setting back - flare knees out, to set hips down
  • breathing, take a deep breath before you go

I was gonna make a comment on that too. There seems to be a pretty significant size difference between his left and right calf. But that doesn’t take away how very informative these videos are. I will definitely be forwarding this page to a bunch of my lifting buddies.
