Ilya Ilin’s Future Plans

Recently in the press conference you heard that he wants to be a coach.

As he previously mentioned Ilya Ilin is enrolling in a 3 year program in the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism. He wants to improve the weightlifting program he uses. For this he wants experimental verification and scientific evidence.

The system is about using innovations constantly. It should be constantly improving. Throughout the past 20 or 30 years, this has been the Bulgarian system, to which I and my coaches Yerzhas Boltayev and Tolik Bektemirov, added our vision to get a good result. We need to carry on looking for more in order to find a better system and apply it.

Asked about Rio he says:

I can surely say I will go to the Olympics in Rio De Janeiro to become a three-times Olympic Games champion. I promise I will do it.

    I think he may flirt with 105s but will be back down to 94 for 2016. Maybe the 105s at next year’s worlds will be what we hoped to see at Olympics.
