Kevin Bania 162.5 cm (64 Inch) Standing Box Jump

This is the biggest Standing Box Jump I have seen so far. Unreal!

162.5 cm (64 inches) by CrossFitter Kevin Bania, who trains at Cream City Crossfit.

Age: 30

Height: 178cm (5’10″)

Weight: 79.3kg (175 lb)

He says in the description that

This bests the standing Guiness World Record for “Highest Standing Jump” by over 5″. The current official record is 58.27″ set by Jonas Huusom of Denmark in August 2011.

As for what his vertical is he commented below that

I only have about a 34″ vertical. Tested it a few times in exercise physiology lab on a Vertec. The difference is made up in timing and flexibility, with a pinch of balance.

Holy crap that guy is explosive

  • Adam

Good jump but I hate it when people put up “box jump” videos. They are always done with horrible form. You should finish in a “defensive” position. Not with your knees next to your ears. He also finished it by jumping back off the box backwards!!

      Come on Adam,
how else can you land a max height jump but with your ears between your knees?

If you don’t land in a deep squat position then by definition you didn’t jump maximum height.

I think this jump is perfect.

Agreed. One of the most incredible demonstrations of explosiveness & feats of athleticism ever recorded. Anyone who has ever attempted these and trained their jump over a period of many months/ years w squats, deadlifts, explosive lifts and plyos knows the tremendous amount of work that went into this. Absolutely incredible.

Some people will criticize everything they can’t do. Who are you to tell this guy how to jump? So what if he jumped back backwards? Drop your ego and enjoy the reality – this jump is amazing.

    wonder what his vertical is

I only have about a 34″ vertical. Tested it a few times in exercise physiology lab on a Vertec. The difference is made up in timing and flexibility, with a pinch of balance. As for the backwards hop from that high up, definitely not wise, but it was mostly out of celebration and rushing to get the measuring tape. Anyone can probably guess that wasn’t my first attempt of the day at that height, so I was mildly elated, to say the least.
