Time to post your predictions! Only your top pick for each weight class.

Here are mine:

+105kg: Behdad Salimi, even though Algebov looked fantastic. Iranians will get him to peak form.

105kg: Khadzhimurat Akkaev, sorry Dmitry

94kg: Artem Ivanov, because there is no way somebody with hair like this can win the Olympics twice

85kg: Kianoush Rostami, (Clarence Kennedy as backup)

77kg: Lu Xiaojun, (is Lu Haojie going?), Oh yeah and Hysen Pulaku will medal!

69kg: Tang Deshang, because China, that’s why

62kg: Kim Un-Guk, hope he uses this opportunity to defect from North Korea

56kg: Wu Jingbiao, because I don’t know anything about this class

    Good picks.  But…  Albegov for big upset win in +105s.  And how can you bet against “My Ugly Boy”  Yup, repeat, bad hair and all.

    Huge fan of Klokov, but I think Armnau, if his head has been been in the right place the past few months is unbeatable.

    doubt hysen can medal, lu, tigran, lu haojie, sa ja, these guys will all total at least 360 plus.

      Yeah he will need a very good day to hit 360kg.

      But a couple of misses by the others and everything is possible.

     I will say one thing that the olympics can be very predictable.  I don’t think anyone thought steiner would win in 2008 yet he did just for one example.

      last olympics at 105+ class there was no a dominat lifter, and yes it was a huge surprise when stteiner lifted 8 kilo above his PR although  this year  Salimi will have and easy gold in my opinion

         I’m not so sure he has missed some easy lifts in contest -for him at least- and his technique is not the sharpest at shw but he makes up for it by being very strong.  The russian has looked very consistent and just takes one bad miss from salimi to open the door.

    105s Andrei Aramanua may repeat. 85s Moradi shouldbe on there.

    What’s wrong with Ilya’s hair? I like his hair! I like his everything :) ))))) Going to be less dramatic without Artem but I’m deffo cheering for Ilya. P.S. I’m from Kazakhstan ;)
