Ian Wilson found some good clips on a Bulgarian history YouTube channel. It has footage of a young Naum Shalamanov a.k.a. Naim Suleymanoglu. Reader Roberto keeps the 1988 series going. Here is another one from the 1988 Bulgarian DVD. Asen Zlatev (230kg C&J here) with what looks like a 180kg or 190kg Snatch. Roberto thinks its 190kg at a bodyweight of 85/87 kg. Thanks to Roberto for submitting this.

Found some of the IronMind Unbelievable Bulgarians 1998 Training Hall DVD footage on YouTube Zlatan Vanev works his snatch up to 150kg Zlatan Vanev with some heavy Clean and Jerks up to 200kg, misses 210kg five times.

As you can clearly see on his profile photo Velichko Cholakov is excited to be taking part in the London Olympics. The Bulgarian bronze medalist from Athens 2004 will be lifting under coach Zlatan Vanev for Azerbaijan. Here he is squatting 325kg Thanks to Dan for sharing this on the All Things Gym Facebook page.
