Phil, Lonnie and Rob talk with national-level powerlifter Paul Carter about his athletic background, about his strong-as-hell training partners, Then Paul explains his 80-10-10 rule in which – following the law of averages – most workouts are sort of B-quality but are still of great worth.

The 80-10-10 Training Rule
  • use it to grade your training sessions
  • 80% of workouts just getting work done
  • negative 10% sessions are those that suck
  • positive 10% session, whenever you hit PRs and everything feels right
Again it’s all about consistency. The longer you have those 80% sessions over time, the more succes you have over time and the more the more of those plus 10% sessions you’ll have -> get closer to your genetic potential.
