Iron Radio Posterior Chain Muscles

August 31, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Listen to Iron Radio episode 172.

Topic: Posterior Chain Muscles

In the news they mention another bench press related death.

35 year old Igor Galushkin lost control over a 180kg bench and dropped it on his chest.

When I saw the videos a couple of days ago I didn’t first post this. It is pretty hard to watch! You probably don’t want to watch it if you are going to bench today, so be warned. Here it is.

He suffered major damages to his organs and died hours after being taken to the hospital.

Benching is serious business! Stay safe folks!

RIP. Sad to see. Why wasn’t the guy in the red top not using the same spotting technique as the other guy? Would it have made any difference at all? Seemed the bar just slipped out of the poor guys hands. 180 kg benches aren’t that uncommon in gyms. Stay safe.
