Ross Enamait breaks down the mother of all dynamic pushing exercises, the triple clap push up.

This feat of power is something I have yet to achieve.

He breaks down the important points:

  • hand speed
  • coordination
  • flexibility
  • explosiveness

Feet shoulder width apart or closer to avoid excessive hip bending.

“Slight bend in the waist is going to happen, just don’t shoot the backside up and out.”

Progressions

  • standing clapping drills – get nervouse system familiar with the fast clapping motions
  • elastic rubber band assisted push ups – to buy more time
  • behind the back single and double claps
