George Leeman on “When to take Steroids”

October 4, 2013 By Gregor Winter

George Leeman is not afraid to talk about steroids.

Here he shares his opinion on whether / when to take them.

If you have shit to live for other than getting big you shouldn’t probably be taking drugs.

That shit doesn’t supplement your life, it becomes your life.

Your thoughts or experiences in the comments.

Fantastic video. This should be shown to anyone who is considering using steroids. In the UK it’s becoming increasingly popular to take PED’s to replace hard work and dedication. People just don’t understand the risks. Everyone wants to be a Body-Builder but no-body wants to lift the weights.

That was an honest video I liked it. My opinion is that nobody should take drogs who is not a professional athlete. (or if you do,take very little amount). I know, many reader are going to think: what a hell? that’s cheating! BUT:professional athletes do take drogs because without drogs nobody can run a world record for example. You can be the most talented most hard working luckiest force of nature – you won’t be able to clean and jerk 260 kg either. That’s just it. I have absolutely no problem with that. Of course it would be really nice if athletes weren’t using them but let’s face the reality and swallow it. I don’t blame them and my heart is bleeding when anyone get’s caught.

I am with you here, if you should decide to take it, do it with a purpose (of competing at the highest level, going for records…). The pro athletes take it, but they also put in incredible amount of work. People who take it without wanting to work too (like Tom said) are a joke to me.

What is also pretty ridiculous, when someone gets caught and everyone from their respective sport circles is in “disbelief” and all over him for that, while they know too good whats going on. There are however people on the outside (fans, spectators) who honestly dont know whats up and they can be fooled into thinking these are the only bad apples and pretty much everyone else is clean. I mean, we know, but there are more fans that dont than those who do.

Very true. The general public is blind to the use of PEDs in any high performance sports. There are freaks out there who can do amazing things. We have a lifter in our country whos numbers would simlar if not more than the top lifters in his class with the exception of the two lifts that matter!! He is more than likely clean as he lifts in the OECD and is subjected to a range of testing. For this lifter technical inefficiency would be the main reason for lower numbers. Kenndrick farris is more than likely the strongest clean athlete in any class under the supers. If farris was sent to the eastern block at the age of 12 his total today would be much higher. No offence meant in this comment. Technique is
      paramount.

I’ve just read this article on BBC and I’ve found it very interesting. At last someone who is not a hypocrite and has sympathy towards sportsmen.

Very late, but steroids should be legal. The whole ‘that’s cheating’ crap comes from brainwashed babies who believe everything the government feeds them. The idea that somebody can go to jail just for taking steroids and lifting is absurd and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

People who take steroids (on an athletic level) do it so they can recover quickly. This is crucial when the athletes hit 30 and above. Just because somebody takes steroids doesn’t mean they’re going to abuse them. Not everybody who trains is a bodybuilder.
