Homemade Wooden Dragging Sled

November 11, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Redditor poscaps shows how he built his homemade dragging sled.

It was about $50 USD. It would’ve been cheaper had he already had any of the scrap around. The flange and pipe were the most expensive single pieces at almost $20 for the pair.

First I was skeptical about how the wood would perform on asphalt, but he said

Actually pulls a lot nicer than on the grass. Doesn’t seem to be too rough on the skeds either. of course, I’ve only used it a few times so far.

If that should turn out to be a problem I would just add some sheet metal to the bottom.

Here it is in action 🙂

Nice and simple, great bit of kit. Nice way to build in incremental loading too…just like Milo of Crotona!!
