Damn I can not really imagine a more disappointing 105kg. Sucks, this was Dolegas to take.

I may sound disrespectful to the athlets on the platform but this 105kg race was really boring.
And the news about klokov… No words

That was some of the worst weightlifting I’ve personally ever seen. As much as I envy all those guys’ strength it was not was I’d expect on the olympic stage. Equally as bad the 85kg class imo.

Ilya Ilin lifted more than everyone in this class. They should give gold to Ilya in both categories, 94 and 105.

It’s weird how negative people are – some here and some at pendlays forums. We still saw a close fight that came down to the last lift. Don’t people enjoy watching the B group just because they lift even less?

Torokhtiy is really the best 105 lifter tonight.
Unlike Akkaev he managed to not break his body in training.
Unlike Klokov he managed to show up with clean urine/blood.
Unlike Machavaiani he didn’t let his nerves get to him when he realised he had a shot at the medals.
Unlike Dolega he was consistent enough to make his openers.

Donald, I am so glad you made that comment.

I try (it doesn’t always work) to take each lift for its own. People in the chat were cheering for B Group Girls who clearly had no chance of winning. And that is what I like about the Olympcs. The British crowd has also been amazing and supports each person to the fullest.

Still 2 sessions to go tomorrow. B session – I’ll be there!

Gregor, I am so glad you made this blog.

I’ve also enjoyed watching every session I have seen so far. Wonder if we will see any new records 🙂

Dude still a 94kg lifter totaled more then anyone in the 105kg class which has never happened before and by a big margin. This session had more misses then nearly any session we have seen with weights that a 94kg lifter did with ease. Most of the sessions have been great yet this was one of the weaker sessions due to the three best lifters in the division not being able to compete.

A close fight AND big weights would obviously have been even better. Complaining about it won’t change the past and won’t make you happier though. I would have killed to see Akkaev, Klokov and an Aramnau in top shape battling for the medals – that wasn’t to be though.

Man, I was really looking forward to see those 200+ snatches we’ve seen in training. Highest attempted was 190. Ah well.
