        Looks good, though:
        for 62 i would put Figueroa 3rd
for 69 i would put Liang 2nd and Chen 3rd
        for 69 i would put Un 1st, Xiang 2nd
        for 75 i would put Kang 1st, Evstyukhina 2nd

Possible too, although I will be surprised if Chenxi Liang gets a medal. On the other hand, I should’ve put Markov(BUL) as bronze favourite in the 85’s. I didn’t because I failed to notice him in the startlist at first

          • Michael Wu says

            October 16, 2013 at 14:50

Liang just lifted 340 at the chinese nationals

Didn’t know that…Hope he performs at that level again, so that we can se a little bit more than just a Liao Hui showdown (Chen also has a very strong snatch, but his C&J pretty much screws up his total).

I was thinking about this the other day: everything 85kg and below (when Lu Yong is back in shape) is Chinese dominated and everything 85kg and above is Russian territory except for some special lifters (usually Polish/Iranian). Time to take some trips to study.

    • Michael Wu says

      October 15, 2013 at 03:02

I think Lu Yong is retiring

      • Ponz says

        October 15, 2013 at 16:03

Please tell me this is just a suspicion. He was my favorite 85 ever!

        • Michael Wu says

          October 15, 2013 at 17:36

He’s my favourite lifter ever, I’ve watched his Beijing performance over 25 times lol

But sadly, he did say after the 2013 Chinese Nationals that he plans to retire, or at least step away from weightlifting from a while.

            October 15, 2013 at 21:17

God, Nooooooo! Man, that actually makes me sad. I hope he knows people are as inspired by him as we are. Speaking of which, I really hope Ilya isn’t planning on retiring (what with him attending Worlds this year as a coach). That would be another tragic loss.

Ilya said he will start serious training in January to prepare for worlds in Kazakhstan

In the 85 kg cat Ivan Markov from Bulgaria is missing from the Predictions Poll. He’s gonna be there and – in my opinion – win a medal. He can be a sort of surprise because everybody is expecting Zelinski and Aukhadov to dominate but he is strong. Don’t forget he picked up that 215 kg at the European Champs…

    • Tyler Banville says

      October 15, 2013 at 14:52

I absolutely agree with the words on Markov. The only thing holding him back is a truly abysmal make/miss ratio. In terms of strength, I would put him ahead of Zielinski and equal with Aukhadov. But obviously you have to make your lifts. Markov could total 370 or 390, really no way to predict.

Dołęga may be out due to injury. It will be clear soon.

Damn yeah. Lower Back pain and he couldn’t train properly for the last 2 weeks.

Guys, watch out to Ruslan Nurudinov. He is the new “Dmitry Klokov” and I guess that he will win silver medal.

    • grobpote says

      October 19, 2013 at 16:30

That would be too bad for him. Always second never first.

You are right man. But I said that for this champ. I’m sure that he will be world champion In future.
