Andrei Aramnau Interview

January 6, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Here is an Interview with Andrei Aramnau (2008 105kg Olympic gold medalist)

Q: How much do you lift during a training session?
A: Well, on the whole I can lift up to 30 tons, you can get a lot of kilos if you sum up all the attempts.
Q: 30 tons in 1 hour and a half?!
A: I usually train for 1.5-2 hours, But this is not a rule. I can limit it sometimes – however, I never lift less than 10 tons per training session!
…My mother works at “Medication.” Everyone says this is the reason why I am so strong. You know the story about Obelix falling into a tub? They say I fell in some vitaminous solution at my mother’ work. Of course it is only a joke…”

Contrast the 64 tons Ilya Ilin mentioned in this short interview.

Great lifter who could make the -105 a real thriller at the olympics this year. Aramnau, Klokov, Akkaev, Dolega…

Does anybody know if he is preparing for the Olympics? Is there a change he will compete in London?
