Bahador Moulaei 264kg Clean (& Jerk Miss)

October 16, 2014 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in Iran …

Here is another blast from the past from Bahador Moulaei.

After his 260kg Clean & Jerk video, here is an attempt at the C&J World Record.

264kg Clean + a missed Jerk. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a successful 264 on video for us in the future.

Just let that think in for a minute. How many people on this planet have ever attempted such a weight?

It is not everyday that we watch something like this.

Indeed. There are not many people are walking this planet / have walked this planet that could do this.

          It is about human limits.
          300 kg is the limit.
          290 is the limit.

Damn…I didn’t know Scerbatihs did that big of a clean and jerk…wow.

I guess he isn’t injured. GOOD LORD he is strong.

    • Gregor says

He is injured and will get surgery. THose clips are not recent.

  3. Tom Bennett says

    October 16, 2014 at 18:44

he is seriously strong…I bet he breaks the world record too. Let’s hope he gets healthy and pushes Lovchev, Salimi and Albegov to the heights of the old days!

I think Salimi can do 260 and Lovchev looks like he’s going to be good for 260 some day too

    • Jerker Karlsson says

      October 21, 2014 at 16:28

Look at Salimi’s entry total at this year’s worlds… Maybe just tactics, but probably the Russians and he can battle it out and post great numbers.

Also, it’s not just the clean and jerk that looks promising. Judging by Salimi’s performance at the Asian games and the Russians’ performance at their nationals, the snatch world record could definitely be beaten if the lifters have a good day.

      • Tom Bennett says

        October 21, 2014 at 17:51

Salimi would have to do 212/260 to hit that 272..it’s possible…I think he might get beat this year. He’s not ultra consistent in INTERNATIONAL competition in the clean and jerk. We shall see. Lovchev is a gamer. He’s ready to fight.

      • Tom Bennett says

        October 22, 2014 at 17:48

definitely looks like 215 or 216 could go….

        • Jerker Karlsson says

          October 23, 2014 at 15:40

Would be nice to see a new world record. In the snatch the lifters of today actually have surpassed many of the 80’s era records (maybe not if you factor in the bodyweight advantage in the new classes). Would be great to see 217 someday, and maybe a step down that road will be taken at the worlds. 🙂

You’re making it worse with those videos, Gregor! xD

There are some guys in history who have done such weights but I don’t remember anyone to be just 22 y/o old when they did it. Crazy.

Judging by his “hair” and his Adistars, this could be from his 2013 WWC preparation. The 260 c&j you posted earlier seems to be the more recent one and looks like he could have cleaned the 264 a little easier that session. Maybe he has attempted even more after the 260?

      October 17, 2014 at 00:28

and at that time he was 21(2013 wwc)!!!

The American powerlifter in me just wants to see a video of a WLer cleaning 600 (272.5+) in training someday. I don’t even care so much if he breaks the CJ record.

Now I should probably 6hide now before a red Eleiko plate comes flying at my head…

    • Magneto says

      October 17, 2014 at 00:22

I think it already happened somewhere in the Soviet Union or Iran. Chemerkin even attempted it in international competition. I remember rumors that Rezazadeh has clean & jerked above 270 in training (which he was clearly capable of) and there was an article about 21 y/o Saeid Ali-Hosseini setting new records with a 215 snatch and a 270 c&j in training. But before that happens in competition we will have to wait a long long time. Maybe it’ll never happen.

      • Tom Bennett says

        October 20, 2014 at 07:27

Is Saeid Al Hosseini the kid that got permanently banned but had amazing jr numbers?

        • Jerker Karlsson says

          October 20, 2014 at 09:05

Yes, he holds all the junior world records in the 105+ class. It’s a shame he got banned for life and we never got to see him compete as a senior.

His last comp afaik, talk about potential. Gap to 2nd (and who that is…).

              October 20, 2014 at 16:27

sheesh…clean and jerk 245kg as a Jr. Well, the Iranians definitely have talented big men. Good lord.

              • Jerker Karlsson says

                October 21, 2014 at 16:24

I think the results from that competition are all junior world records. Salimi was quite a bit behind there, makes you wonder what Hosseini could have done had he been able to continue competing.

                  October 21, 2014 at 17:50

That Behdad Salimi broke Hosseini’s record.
I dom’t know the new world record, but Behdad has it now.

    • Leon says

      October 17, 2014 at 18:43

Just because in pounds it’s a nice number?
I also hope to see it, but I am not sure if it will happen. The 2000 Olympics in the super heavyweight division were sick. Some starting with 250 in the C&J.

      • Tom Bennett says

        October 20, 2014 at 07:28

I think we’re going to see 260 in competition soon. There are MANY guys in that range right now…pretty awesome.
