Olympic Without Behdad Salimi !

Behdad Salimi have a bad injury. so maybe he don’t participate at 2012 Olympic Games in London.
that’s a very bad news for Iran’s Sport.

Update: In a comment on their post they mentioned that it is a knee injury.

Update#2: On Facebook he commented “[…] but don’t worry; they’re gonna fix it! :)”

Update #3: Here he is squatting big weights again.

      Dude, same here.

But let’s wait for some more news on what the injury actually is and hope for the best.

What an upset! The door is wide open. Maybe Steiner can even repeat…

Steiner, really? Of course I would like to see it happen, but I doubt it.

Have not heard anything in the news about him recently.

He did 190/234 at the Europeans and looked like he would be good for more soon. He is still recovering so his lifts should come back up quickly.
I understand that the last time the circumstances were incredible different for him, but he’s just such a likable character and a beautiful technician. I’d like to see him win it again.

He will be competing this weekend (June 9th) in a meet in Heidelberg, Germany.

Not expecting him to max out there. But it should be interesting.

Preparation is not going as planned for Steiner.

My bet is on the russian who won at the russian nationals now that the salimi is out.  I really hope chigishev is not injured though and was just holding back at nationals and wins it all this year.

Chigichev looked like he had the usual trouble with his right hamstring after the cleans.

We’ll see 11. June if he made the team.

Hopefully he gets to compete.  If not, it’s karma to all of Iran’s disrespectful fan.
