Bulgarian World Records at 1986 European Weightlifting Championships

October 28, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Ian Wilson found some good clips on a Bulgarian history YouTube channel.

It has footage of a young Naum Shalamanov a.k.a. Naim Suleymanoglu.

They are from the 1986 European Championships in Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz).

Naim did 145+187.5 for 332.5kg total at 60kg bodyweight. Both were World Record lifts.

Here is the Clean & Jerk

The channel also has Alexander Varbanov’s 212.5kg World Record Clean & Jerk @75kg.

And they also uploaded footage from the 1985 Europeans 82.5kg in Katowice, Poland.

Shows the battle between Asen Zlatev and Zdravko Stoichkov.
