Deadlift Hip Height & Bar Position

February 23, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Paul Carter has a good post up about Hip Height and Foot Position in deadlifts.

  • hip height is determined by  how close you are to the bar
  • if you have short arms and go shin close to the bar = hips high, almost like stiff legged deadlifts
  • bar closer to toes allows you to drop the hip more
  • people who are good squatters can benefit from bringing their already strong glutes, hips and legs more into the game
