A reader submitted the Ricky Bruch documentary “Själen Är Större Än Världen” (“The Soul Is Greater Than The World”).
The Film that follows Ricky Bruch and is the source for pretty much every mixed video of him. Complete with English Subtitles. Interesting, eccentric guy. Does Jerks with what looks to be in the mid 500s and Box Squats what looks to be at least in the 600s.
I recently came across Ricky via his introduction to the 70s Big Hall of Fame.
Some say that Bruch toed the line of insanity. That may be true, but his insanity was funneled into a supreme focus: to be as great as he could possibly be.
I found this movie as a sophomore in high school and had to buy it online overseas. His fire and passion are admirable, especially after the Swedish Olympic committee tells him he isn’t going to the Olympics. He’s also missing a finger, you can tell when he’s bench pressing. Great post.
