July 29, 2012 By Gregor Winter

The London 2012 Men’s 56kg B Group (A Group is here) is over.

New Olympic Record and tied World Record C&J by Om Yun Chol

This guy won the Gold overall.

“My plan to lift in the Group B to make my opponents nervous worked 100%. I feel very satisfied and happy about my victory.” via

And the dear leader even gets a shout out:

“How can any man possibly lift 168kg? I believe the great Kim Jong-il looked over me,” Om said, referring to the North Korean leader who died in December.
“I am very happy and give thanks to our Great Leader for giving me the strength to lift this weight.” via

Can’t find a channel streaming the 56B. But ARD and ZDF is streaming the 53B (Rohde is in that group)

Thanks! I have another question. the site says:
I’m sorry, we can’t show this content in your area.
Can I do something about this? I’m in the Netherlands. Thanks a lot!

I use a VPN. Most convenient way to access the BBC streams. They even stream all B sessions.

Costs $10 for 1 month. Worth it in my opinion.

Anybody want to venture a guess why he didn’t go for 169? His total would’ve allowed it. Don’t get it.

I don’t get it either. Would love to hear some speculations from others.
