Leho Pent 300kg Squat

July 2, 2014 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in Estonia …

What is it that gives Estonians their superhuman Squat strength?… Is it that gym? Is it the haircut? You decide!

Here is Leho Pent (94kg in competition, currently 95-96) Squatting 300kg.

The only other 300kg Squat from a 94 that comes to my mind is that of Zygimantas Stanulis.

By the way, last time he tested his max he got 260kg x2 and guess what program he used to build up to the 300kg?

That’s right! The same “pyramid” approach from the Russian Squat Routine, which Mart Seim used for his 320kg x10 (and 350kg x1)

Also, if we go down one weight class, we have WLer Vladislav Lukanin who squatted 305 kgs in a powerlifting competition at 82.5.

Dimas told IWF magazine before Atlanta 1996 Olympic’s. That he did 310/320×2 ( cant remember if it was 310 or 320, but was more then 300kg)before the games. And suleymanoglu told he did 195kg clean and jerk on the same interview with the magazine.

Sadly before the days of Youtube. Can you imagine if some of yesteryear’s greats had Instragram or Youtube accounts?

Yep 🙂 lifters as dursun service who was doing front squat on 280kg+ on 90kg, or Alexander doing 350kgx5 squat. Taranenko 380kg with 5 sec stop or 300×3 in front. Rezazadeh with 400+ kg. Or Yury zakharevich who was one of the strongest deadlifters with more then 400kg+. Yury zakharevich as a junior on a competition was allmost going out on 210kg clean and jerk as young junior. Did not get up on clean in first and second, and then decided to power clean it on last attempt and did it easy. And one bulgarien lifter in 67,5kg who i cant remember the name one, have done 300kg squat on 70-71kg.

Very impressive, based on strength levels Leho should be at medalist levels now. However the key is how he can translate this into his weightlifting numbers.
