Liao Hui 220kg Jerk?

December 14, 2015 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in China …

Liao Hui Jerked 220kg… and even re racked the weight!

So now the consensus is that this is fake (meaning one of the plates)?

What just happened? That jerk didn’t look slow at all.

Not at all, looked really snappy. I hope we will see Liao Hui break the 200 kg barrier in the 69 kg class before his career is over. No-one is really a competitive threat to him so far, so it should be a few tries left for record weights in the clean and jerk, after he has secured gold in any given competition.

That is quick and very solid in locked position. He could do more it looks like.

How has no one mentioned that this is bizaare? If this is real, then he’s the second person on earth to do more than a triple bodyweight jerk, then he re-racked it, AND HE DIDN’T EVEN LOOK PHASED – like, “yeah, I do impossible shit – how are you not used to that yet?” Am I the only one who feels confused by this?

No worries, I feel the same!
      This guy is incredible.
Looks, like he can outperform Iliya to set senior world records in 3 weight classes (69, 77, 85) if it wasn’t for Chinese strategy to keep strong 69kg. Also win 3 or 4 olympics if it wasn’t for the unfortunate ban. Do it all with “I”m slightly bored since there is nobody who can compete with me” attitude.

I feel the same way man. He’s jerking WR weight across three weight classes with authority… and then RE-RACKING IT. Granted he must be above 69, but surely not more than 73 or 74. Insane.

Am I the only one who thinks that the two red from inside are not 25’s? the color does not match and looks like 2,5’s, the bar does not bend too much.
    Just saying…

The 2 Eleiko reds on the inside look like 2.5’s to you??

I’m betting they’re Eleikos mixed with something like ZKC.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Eleiko plates with curved text like that …

They are older ones, I’m not sure the exact date but I’ve seen them since 2009 at least.

I would really like to see him try 211 again as an overweight 69 before Rio… Or maybe he has that planned for after Rio (He’t not saving anything for 2020; he’s attested to that). Lu doesn’t look like he’s up for 211 anymore. Maybe he should have taken a swipe at it during the 2013 worlds instead of trying to save it for later and tossing out his third attempt.
