Donny Shankle explains 2 split jerk techniques he learned from Zygmunt Smalcerz while training at the OTC.

Good drills if you have trouble catching or stabilizing the weight after a jerk.

3 Step Split Jerk Foot Position

Instruction for Foot Position:

  • draw a line in front of our toes
  • take 3 steps
  • draw a new line

Drills:

  • in split stance with light weight
  • weight 50/50 (Glenn says 60/40, Zygmunt Smalcerz says 45/55)
  • back knee down
  • 5 presses
  • jerks in split
