Meanwhile in Chekhov …
Today in All Things Klokov we have Snatch Grip Stiff Legged Deadlifts again.
But this time as a drop set Andrey Demanov and Ruslan Albegov take off 10kg each rep. So Dmitry does 260kg, 250kg, 240kg, 230kg, 220kg kg.
In the comments he said that his best Deadlift (not sure if he means snatch grip stiff legged too) is 310kg without straps.
Update: In another video he talked about the importance of the deadlifts he does. Translation from a youtuber:
You were asking why I’m doing deadlifts and pulls every day… How can you train without them? For example lets take the snatch grip deadlift that I am doing right now… Its like the most important part when you pulled it up to here (1-41)… so you can really use your back.. Deadlift is like 70% of the Snatch… If you pulled it high and straight, there is like nothing to do really. Only idiots won’t catch the bar finish the lift at that point, so do deadlifts.
Update #2: Here Dmitry talks about why likes straight legged deadlifts so much.
That straps pop at the end gets a 10/10.
Ruslan Albegov gets a 205kg Snatch Double from blocks. That must he the heaviest double I have seen to date.
And Oleg Chen also doubles up on 140kg Snatches.
This is my reaction to all the videos lately http://i.imgur.com/oP73jn0.gif
That’s 160kg on Chen’s bar, not 140
2x25kg, 1x10kg, 1x5kg, 1×2.5kg + collars = 160kg
2×25, 2×15, 2×10, 2×5, 2×2.5 + collars = 140kg.
Also consider that Chen has never snatched 160, let alone for an easy double, and that the WR snatch for 69kg class is 165kg.
I could have swore that at 0:10 I could clearly see another 25. Oh well, time to get my eyes checked
It does look like 160, but the second plate from the inside is actually a yellow, not a red.
There’s an older video of Aramnau [i]attempting[i] 210 for a snatch double…
What kind of straps is he using that he can do a strap pop like that?
Just one strip of fabric for each hand.
Oh so he doesn’t wrap them around his wrists? How does one benefit from that?
