And the video of the
day week goes to … Igor Lukanin!
After his 270kg Front Squat he told me that he has a lot more in him.
Well, here is a 285kg Paused Front Squat.
As for seminars, Igor will have 4 stops in California (Juni 21st at Catalyst Athletics), 2 in New York, 2in Virginia and he plans to visit Texas and Indiana as well.
Still he is looking for a country to represent in the 2016 Olympic games in Rio (and at other weightlifting competitions) and also for a sponsorship that would enable him to properly prepare for these competitions.
If you can help contact Igor on Facebook. Let’s get this done!
While we’re on the topic, check out Dmitry Klokov’s 250kg Paused Front Squat and Miika’s Super Pause with 220kg.

Dammit, all the countries and their representatatives that lack quality lifters and are not already all over this guy suck. I hate it! Only countries that can afford not having a guy like him on their team are Russia, China and Kazakhstan. All the other countries suck for not wanting Igor.
China doesn’t have any top HW lifters neither does kazakhstan. Russia is the only one you listed that has lifters who can put up a higher total then him at HW. In fact russia and Iran are probably the only countries who could afford to not have him since they have better lifters-as of now- at that weight class.
Ivan Bista says
Well, yeah, you are right, tho I meant it regardless of the weight class, the 3 I listed have enough firepower in other classes which makes it understandable they wont pursuit another top guy. But yeah, pretty much every country except Russia and Iran could use a HWer in their ranks.
He was in Serbia last 2 years.. .And that didnt ended well…
Impressive but not really what I would consider a great paused front squat. He does stay in the hole somewhat but is bouncing and there is never a real pause. There have been more impressive paused squats posted here where you can see a truly static position and start from the bottom.
