Lasha Talakhadze 264kg Clean & Jerk

September 22, 2018 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in Georgia …

I assume this was at the Georgian nationals (?). That means these are not official world records.

Lasha Talakhadze Clean & Jerks 264kg (and snatched 214kg)!

This is +1kg on Hossein Rezazadeh’s 263kg clean and jerk record and also +1kg on Lasha’s world record total.

More: Watch Lasha’s 210kg Snatch + 240kg C&J Session before he set the snatch world record.

I can see him easily do 225 and 265 =490. I am not sure 500 is possible at this time by him.

I think he will do 225-270 next Olympics.

        235 + 285… opening, easy LOL

A great lift with more to come. His next stop maybe 267.

Outstanding. This guy is a pillar of strength and consistency.

Amazing lift. Very reminiscent of last year’s unofficial WR snatch at the same competition. Leg strength doesn’t look to be any kind of limiting factor. Typically his overhead stability is impeccable but this weight challenged him. I can’t see him getting many more kilos on the bar at the World Champs with international judges.

221 + 267 would be a sweep of the records (and beat his record for combined by 11 kg).
Can he do it at Worlds?

If he is NOT aiming för 500 in total, that would be a misstake. He clearly got the potential 227- 273.
