Greg, I think you should have a separate post for friendship-84 with a set of videos. Not so many people aware of importance of these games (over 30 world records were broken, which are untouchable even nowdays). Also it counts as “4th olympic gold medal” of Naim Suleimanoglu.

Another interesting aspect is that difference between 1st and 3rd place are usually huge. For supers it is 50 kg %_%
In Hungary, every athlete who won a medal in olympic games ,receives an amount of money monthly – which is more than the average salary and changes with the inflation – after his or her 35 th birthday until their death. Later in the ’90-s the hungarian government recognized that 1984 Friendship Cup equal important as the olympics so the medals count like and olympic medal.
