Clarence Kennedy SUPER Sunday 227kg / 500lbs Clean PR, 320kg Deadlifts + Heavyweight Tricking!

July 23, 2018 By Gregor Winter

Forget Big Fridays … Super Sunday is here ?

Early June I visited Clarence in Ireland (made possible by your support on patreon).

We filmed for 4 days, and this video was supposed to be the final episode in the series. But because this day was so epic, we decided to post this one first. ATG Patrons had early access to this video.

This Sunday was my final day in Ireland. We start off in my airbnb with Clarence picking me up, as he did the other days. Then we headed to his home, where you ‘ll learn how to cook the best oats ever.

We grab a barbell from Clarence’s famous gym where he grew up lifting and then head to the crossfit where he trains from time to time.

His session starts off with clean and jerks. He works up to a sketchy 190kg. Then missed the jerk on 205kg, adds another 10kg and makes 215kg!

Then he keeps adding kilos until for an all time clean PR attempt at 227.5kg / 501lbs!

Deadlifts

He starts off with 260kg… and a couple of sets later is at 320kg / 705lbs… Watch the whole thing. This was seriously intense! Also an all time PR for Clarence.

I thought we were done in the gym, but Clarence and Eoin wanted to squat …

Squats

Just keeping it light ? Clarence takes 220kg for a ride. A very fast ride!

Tricking

In case you do not know what “Tricking” refers to in this case, wikipedia has this to say: “Tricking is a training discipline that combines kicks with flips and twists from gymnastics […]”.

He originally started weightlifting to increase his power for tricking. Well and as you probably know by now, he has a set of pretty powerful legs.

I was really looking forward to filming this. The tricking session alone would have been reason enough for me to travel to Ireland and film it.

Clarence went ham! A lot of insane combos, backflips, backflips with twist , tumbling, you name it (done at a bodyweight of around 102kg!). Mix in some epic metal music and you have, what I think is, one of the best ATG videos to date.

From there we quickly grabbed something to eat, before the crew dropped me off at the airport. What a day / couple of days in Ireland!

Really hope you like this one. Yes, I know it’s 26 minutes long, but I hope you watch the whole thing. I’m sure by the end of it you want to go to the gym or go outside and MOVE 😀

Let me know what you think in the comments.
